How the Game Works

  • Choose your faction: Play as a Cop (Law Enforcement) or a Gangster (Criminal).
  • Start small: Every player begins with only a pistol and 25 rounds (Players are responsible for brining their own pistol and additional gear).
  • Earn your upgrades: Complete missions to earn fake cash, then use it to unlock better gear, including full-auto weapons, rifles, vests, and other event upgrades.
  • Use event currency: Fake cash is represented by printed bills and poker chips. Treat all event currency as game property.
  • Find your contacts: Eight key NPCs—four on each side—offer one-time missions. Listen carefully, complete objectives, and bring your earnings back to your faction.

Factions and Dress Code

Gangsters

Wear casual clothes. Do not wear camouflage, black, or blue.

Police

Wear a police outfit, or solid-color/camouflage clothing that is black or blue.

General Rules

WARNING: Breaking these rules can lead to removal from the event with no refund.

  • All chrono, weapon-class, and main Blackwater Marsh rules at field.blackwatermarsh.com/rules still apply.
  • This is a mandatory full-seal and barrel-sock event.
  • Keep all lootable items—such as contraband, money, and ammo—in the provided sack. Larger items may be carried in hand. All items inside the sack and specifically marked with tape are lootable during bleed-out.
  • Bleed-out lasts one minute, or until the player has been looted by at least one person. After bleed-out, go to the Safe Zone to respawn.

Capture and Arrest

  • Players may voluntarily be captured or arrested at any point.
  • A player hit by a baton, stun gun, or stun grenade is incapacitated for one minute.
  • A player incapacitated by a non-lethal weapon must be captured or arrested if another player gets within five feet, tells them, and does so within that one-minute period.
  • Captured or arrested players must follow the player who captured them. They separate only if either player dies. Dead players cannot be captured or arrested.
  • If the captor dies, the captured player may be transferred to another player who stays within five feet and announces the transfer within one minute. If the player is not re-captured or re-arrested within one minute, they are free to continue normally.
  • Do not push, pull, make a captured player run, or force them to move unreasonably. Captured players must follow within five feet, but do not have to run or duck.

Respawn

The standard Safe Zone respawn time is 10 minutes. Players may buy an instant respawn for $10 (In game currency).

Roleplay and Conduct

Players are encouraged to stay in character and wear fun costumes. Roleplay is welcome; harassment and unsafe behavior are not.

The following result in immediate removal from the event:

  • Stealing outside the event’s game mechanics
  • Fighting or unwanted physical contact with another player, including verbal fighting
  • Being a complete asshole—this event is here for everyone to have fun, not to troll or cause havoc

Before You Play

Read the complete Blackwater Marsh field rules before arriving. Those rules remain in effect throughout Blackwater City, alongside any event-specific instructions given by staff and referees.
